While a big part of our mission is driven by the project teams that bring non-profit dreams to life, Bits of Good strives to serve both our nonprofit parters and our student members. At the heart of our organization lies the Operations Committee, a dynamic team entrusted with the critical functions of financial and member management, event planning, and encouraging members to create bonds through ‘Donut Dates’ (in which random people are paired up to get to know each other and, ideally, will do so while eating donuts) and Bits (which are “points” that members receive when meeting up to hang out and have fun outside of a meeting). Now the question remains, who are the masterminds behind this incredible team? There’s only one way to find out!

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“One of my favorite things about operations has always been and always will be working with the awesome people on the team every semester. This is my third semester on operations and I have loved meeting and working with every single person I’ve met through the ops team. We are one of the most diverse groups in the organization with students from different majors that come together to work on one collective goal: making our community within Bits of Good strong. We work on multiple different aspects such as sponsorships, logistics, finance, event planning, member management, and outreach. The diverse team and the variety of tasks allows us to have a lot of fun while working towards achieving big initiatives within the organization.”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“My favorite part of Bits of Good has always been Launch Party at the beginning of the semester. I had a blast at my first Launch Party and it was an awesome experience to hear about what everyone will be working on this semester and what we can look forward to for the rest of the semester. You also meet your team for the first time and it's really exciting to get to know everyone you will be working with and getting to know them on a personal level. Launch Party sets the tone for what Bits of Good is as an organization and I knew at Launch Party that I would really enjoy my time in the organization. Fast forward to now I can still say that being a part of Bits of Good has been one of the most amazing experiences I have had in my college experience.”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“My favorite thing about Ops is that we are like the mastermind of the organization. [We] are the backbone of the organization which allows other committees to function. I love being the most important bond in a big organization like BoG. Other than that, I love brainstorming new ideas for events and stuff like that.”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“My favorite thing about BoG is that it is a very big organization. It has such a diverse group of people working on different projects and departments that it is like one huge family. You can always go to other BoG members for help, …even for the work you might have outside the club.”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“The best part about operations is how we're essentially the logistical spine of the entire organization. We work in the background, managing the different infrastructure and events that keep otherwise isolated, compartmentalized parts of the organization working in relative harmony. I also like that we run all the community events and help the club feel like a more cohesive community, rather than just work.”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“Definitely how big it is, and the fact that as an organization we are actively contributing to the good of society. A lot of the culture in the CS world can get highly individualistic and self centered at times. I like that BOG is all about helping out wider society first and foremost.”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“Being an Operations and Community Coordinator is so fun, and the work that we do is impactful to the members here within Bits Of Good. My favorite part of Operations so far is arranging the Launch Party and the Demo Day. I love speaking with all the new members of BOG at the beginning of the semester and seeing how far they have grown within the organization… at the end of the semester… “
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“My favorite thing about Bits of Good is the community that is built within the organization here at Georgia Tech. The people in this organization create such a warm environment, where everyone can bond so easily and create so many memories. I love how everyone is so passionate about the role that they are in and the work that they are doing. The mission that BOG has in helping the non-profit community in the Atlanta area is so impactful that I am so glad to be a part of this organization.”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“My favorite part of Ops so far is Bit Tracking. It’s so fun to see how other members ‘bit farm’ and observe the sense of community on the #bits channel. Particularly, it's been great seeing members organically hanging out, studying, and collaborating in spaces like the library. As I track, I start to witness friendships and new groups unfold over Slack, showing the sense of overall community that Operations so highly encourages.”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“My favorite part of Bits of Good is the community volunteering events. I look forward to directly volunteering with the many nonprofits the organization is involved with. It’s a great way to connect with other members as well as give back! Not only do these events benefit communities in need, but they are also a great way to bond with other Bits of Good members outside of just our usual meetings. I leave the community events feeling reenergized by the connections made and the change done.”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“I love how the Operations team is pretty casual and low-key compared to the other teams. Even though it might not look like we have a lot to do, we contribute a lot to Bits of Good as a whole. Our main responsibilities are to organize and maintain the “behind-the-scenes” agenda such as tracking member attendance, organizing finances, and planning social events. I’m on the Community sub-team, and I love designing the flyers/posters for the events as I have free creative direction with it. I basically get to use my creativity and graphic design skills for the greater good!”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“I love how there are various teams in Bits of Good so you get to try out and apply to different roles. I personally started out as a Design Bootcamper, then a Brand Designer, and now an Operations and Community Coordinator. Through Bits of Good, I learned so much about design (UI/UX, graphic, branding) and community (Georgia Tech campus and the greater Atlanta area). I love working in different committees/teams and just being part of something really impactful. And I hope to continue working with Bits of Good in the future!”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“I really like the community within our department! It’s pretty chill but that also doesn’t mean we don’t do important things. We’re like stage crew during a show, working behind the scenes while our devs and designers are the stars of the show. We work hard to make them shine! Being a part of Ops has been a great learning experience. Just from working on sponsorships for our engineering events alone has taught me so much and I’m looking forward to what Ops will teach me next.”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“Again, the community (I think I like people). Bits of Good has such a welcoming environment which has made me feel comfortable within the community. I really enjoy the social events we host that allow us to get to know other members in a more casual setting. The cookie decorating social was fun because I yapped a bunch and we bonded over k-pop… you should definitely come to these events!”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“I have always been on the Operations Committee and it has been so much fun. It is one of the committees that I don’t think people know too much about but we do a lot to keep BoG running smoothly. One of my favorite things to do is plan logistics and… help set up for events. I get to do this a lot with operations. I work on a few different finance initiatives as part of the operations committee, which is always interesting because I get to learn about how club finances work and what resources we have for fundraising within the Georgia Tech community. Our team is also field with such great people and we always have great conversations. “
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“Bits of Good was a club I joined my first semester at Georgia Tech, when I was looking to meet new people. Everyone I have met in Bits of Good has been very easy to talk to and I’ve always felt welcomed! I used to be a Girl Scout so nonprofits are organizations that I enjoy working with. I’m glad that I’ve been able to continue to support Atlanta nonprofits in college.”

What is your favorite thing about operations?
“Being a part of Ops has taught me a lot in terms of responsibility, communication, and more. The collaborative nature of Ops helps to keep BoG running smoothly and I’ve seen how our work makes sure that we have meeting places, projects, demo day, community events, etc. The finance subteam of the ops ensures that BoG gets funding to continue being the organization we are today.”
What is your favorite thing about Bits of Good?
“My favorite thing about BoG is being able to constantly interact and work with new people. The BoG community is so welcoming and I love that we are able to see the positive impact we are able to make on the non-profit community around us.”
Through strategic planning and collaborative efforts, the Operations Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of Bits of Good, fostering a vibrant community dedicated to positive impact and innovation. Thank you, Operations, for all that you do!
